Trend Report: Military Jacket

One of my favorite women's trend for 2009 was the military jackets. It appeared on 2008 but got a boost up after Michael Jackson's death. The jackets usually have golden double breasted button front and shoulder pads.
Military jackets trend is mostly referred to Balmain's 08-08 collections, though Alexander McQueen, D&G and much more have had them on their runway.

I like it matched with a high waisted skirt 'Blair Waldorf' style, or even with a dress (check out Mischa Barton's picture) which is classic and feminine, but also with skinny jeans or with shiny black leggings rock-style, like Beyonce, which is more common.

Trend Report: Faux Fur

Autumn 2009's runways showed miniskirts, jackets, and mostly vests – covered with extra volume long faux fur, that didn't even pretend to be real. Thus made faux fur, a phrase once synonymous with cheap, seem expensive and sophisticated.
Faux fur was first seen on high-end fashion shows that presented dramatic colorful faux fur looks that looked as if they were inspired by "The Muppet Show". D&G, for example, chose neon-pink color while Gareth Pugh created dark-black outfits.

The trend had quickly spred out to the street fashion and sold in the big chain-stores, such as Forever 21, H&M, and Topshop (check out Kate Moss's line).
Eva Longoria & Victoria Beckham were seen looking glam wearing faux fur coats with a dress underneath and high boots, while Sienna Miller & Rachel Zoe, wore faux fur vests with a belt over & skinny jeans, kept their boho-chic style.
The most exciting use of faux-fur could be seen on Opening Ceremony's "Where the Wild Things Are" collection, that looked prehistoric and yet trendy and chic, with a pinch of fantasy.
